2018 Youth Programs Individual Residential Sports Camps

AFSVA CYP has partnered with US Sports Camps to offer five individual residential sports camps in 2018. Camps being offered are basketball, soccer, baseball, softball, and volleyball. 

Eligible Applicants must meet all the following requirements:

  • A dependent of an AF Active Duty or Active Duty Military assigned to/living on/working on an AF led installation, AF Retired, AF APF and NAF Civilian Employees, ANG, and AFR
  • 12 - 18 years of age - Note:  High School Graduates are not eligible
  • Have a valid picture ID (ex. military ID, driver’s license, school ID, or passport)

June 10- 14, 2018 - The University of Dallas

Nike Coed Soccer Camp
June 22 - 24, 2018 - Elmhurst College

Nike Boys Basketball Camp (2 Sessions)
July 6 - 10, 2018 - Wartburg College

The PDF application for all Air Force Youth Programs Individual Sports Camps must be completed and emailed no later than Friday, May 11, 2018 to:  anthony.alcala.1@us.af.mil and jeremy.bales.5@us.af.mil

It is the applicant's responsibility to confirm receipt of complete application package.  To confirm receipt, the applicant must receive a confirmation email from either Mr. Alcala or Mr. Bales. 

+ Nike Softball Camp at the University of Dallas

Directed by former collegiate All-American, Amber Connor, this camp provides girls, 12 - 18 years of age, the individual attention needed to improve their game. All fundamentals will be covered, to include: fielding, hitting, base-running, and game play every day. Participants will receive a Nike Camp T-shirt, lanyard, and Nike prizes. Transportation costs to and from the University of Dallas, meals on travel days, additional fees charged by the specific camp, and spending money are the responsibility of the participants. Instruction, lodging, and meals during the camp are centrally funded.

+ Nike Soccer Camp at Elmhurst College

This camp was named one of North America’s Top 60 Summer Camps of 2017. This co-ed camp provides boys and girls, 12 - 18 years of age, instruction focusing on functional training, attacking, supporting play, decision-making, shooting, defending, small-sided games, while using the cutting edge process of “Perfect Practice.” Participants will receive a Nike Soccer Camp T-shirt and a post participant evaluation. The Nike Soccer Camp will be held 22-24 Jun 18 at Elmhurst College, 190 Prospect Avenue, Elmhurst, IL. + Nike Baseball Camp at Davenport University

This camp guarantees to take kids to the next level and is under the direction of Kevin Tidey and his Davenport University coaching staff. The camp provides boys, 12 - 18 years of age, instruction to build skills in fielding, hitting, base-running, as well as game-time situations, and daily scrimmages. Participants will receive a Nike Camp T-shirt, lanyard, and Nike prizes. The Nike Baseball Camp will be held 9-12 Jul 18 at Davenport University, 6191 Kraft University, Grand Rapids, MI. + Nike Boys Basketball Camp at Wartburg

This camp is under the direction of nine-time USA Basketball Gold Medalist Head Coach Don Showalter. The camp provides boys, 12 - 18 years of age, with a minimum of 19 individual and team fundamentals clinics, daily scrimmages, discussions, and more. Participants will receive a Nike Camp T-shirt, a personal evaluation, and a report card. There will be two sessions of The Nike Boys Basketball Camp to choose from: 6-10 Jul 18 or 18-22 Jul 18. Both sessions will be held at Wartburg College, 100 Wartburg Boulevard, Waverly, IA. + Nike Volleyball Camp at Seattle University

This camp is an All-Skills Camp led by Head Coach James Finley. This camp provides girls, 12 - 18 years of age, opportunities to master the fundamentals and develop proper mechanics through a mix of drills, games, and competitive play. Participants will receive a Nike Volleyball Camp T-shirt and prizes. The Nike Volleyball Camp will be held 23-25 Jul 18 at Seattle University, 901 12th Avenue, Seattle, WA. 2018 Other Non-AF Sponsored Residential Camps

Florida Water Adventure Camp: This camp provides teens, 14 - 18 years of age, opportunities to follow a drop of water 800 miles from Northwest Florida to the Florida Coasts. This 12-day outdoor camping experience will be based at many of the most beautiful Florida State Parks. Throughout the 12 days, teens will participate in kayaking, snorkeling, hiking, camping, caving, team-building, and basic survival skills. By working in small tactical teams, teens will accomplish mutual goals that enhance teamwork and leadership skills. Teens have the opportunity to select from two different sessions and each session will have 50 participants. Session 1 will be held 11 - 22 Jun 18 and Session 2 will be held 16 - 27 Jul 18.

Military Teen Adventure Camps: These camps provide teens, 14 - 18 years of age of Active Duty, Guard, Reserve, and Retirees, unique outdoor experience that encourages teens to build leadership skills, increase self-confidence, and foster teamwork while actively involved in outdoor adventures. For more information and to register, visit https://ag.purdue/extension/adventurecamps/pages.

Camp Corral: This mission of Camp Corral is to transform the lives of children of wounded, injured, ill, and fallen military heroes by providing a unique summer camp experience. In 2018, 24 weeks of camp in 18 states will be offered to military families. To learn more and register, visit https://campcorral.org.

2018 Operation Purple Camps: The National Military Family Association will offer 12 camps in 11 states for military families. These unique camping experiences are designed to help children adapt and overcome the stressors of military life. Learn more and register at https://militaryfamily.org.
