University Center

Air UniversityEducation Services provides educational opportunities and counseling services to all Air Force members assigned to Little Rock AFB; active duty personnel, DOD civilian employees, adult family members, and military retirees. We provide additional support to Air Force Reservists, Arkansas National Guard and other sister service members through CLEP, AFIADL testing, PME enrollments, classroom instruction, counseling and record keeping. We provide students the opportunity to increase their technical proficiency and management skills. There are six on base universities offering both undergraduate and graduate programs. All offer accelerated courses on eight week terms in a variety of formats: lunch, evening, week-end, and online.

NEW DEADLINE for Off Duty Scholorships

For those pursuing off duty education, The Council of Colleges and Military Educators (CCME) has ten (10) $1000 scholarships to award; five (5) for Active Duty (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine and Coast Guard Officer and Enlisted, Reservists and National Guard) and five (5) for military spouses. The NEW deadline for scholarship applications to be received is 1 November 2011. The attached link provides all of the eligibility requirements and links to the applications.

Mission Impacts

A computer system managing various aspects of Air Force education experienced a serious technical malfunction May 13, impacting Air University distance learning, related education records, and test control facilities Air Force wide. This affects CDC's, Course 12/14, and SOS testing. Read the articles for more information.

 

Beginning June 15th testing for CDCs, Course 12/14, and SOS will resume for those already enrolled as of 12 May.

ACSC Testing

Due to the system outage affecting Air Force wide testing, a workaround has been developed for ACSC testing as follows:

 

  • Effective immediately, all TCF's may resume testing ACSC students
  • Priority will be given to students meeting upcoming boards

 

TCF's may verify the exam to be administered by logging into AUSIS or calling ACSC. Test summary sheets may be sent daily for students meeting boards. Those not meeting boards should be sent in a single transmission before COB each Friday. If you have any questions, please call 501-987-8893.

Tuesday & Wednesday: 8 a.m., 9:15 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.
Thursday: 8 a.m. and 9:15 a.m.


Those that wish to test MUST have access to the LRAFB LAN (with the exception of Course 14, SOS, and ACSC). Call 501-987-3417 to schedule or cancel a test session. Cancellations need to be made 24 hours prior to test time. ID Cards are required. Upon arrival, check in at room 203. Food or drinks are not allowed. Hats, jackets, carry bags; backpacks, etc. are not allowed in the testing room. Appropriate civilian or military clothing is allowed. For most tests, 6 month wait to retake the same exam.

 

3 hour time limit on paper exams. Exams with essays are offered during Oct, Dec, Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug each year ONLY.

Tuition Assistance

The Air Force offers up to $4,500 per fiscal year for those seeking voluntary education.  TA can be used for an Associate, Bachelor, and Master degrees as well as a one-time certification.  All first time Tuition Assistance users are required to have a one-time briefing.  Please call 987-3417 to schedule an appointment with a counselor.

Community College of the Air Force (CCAF)

CCAF is the largest community college in the world and offers job-related associate in applied science degrees and other academic credentials to the enlisted force.  Airmen can fulfill general education requirements through civilian colleges, CLEP exams, and DANTES exams.  Official transcripts must be sent directly to CCAF in order to be applied to CCAF, please see the transcript request form below (check with your school for any applicable fees).
